We organise children in different ways for different educational purposes. Each year group has a third teacher enabling children to be taught in smaller groups for mathematics. In English, the third teacher as used to complete writing conferences, work with smaller focus groups and partnership teach with their colleagues. Children work in a range of learning arenas, including within a large group, in small groups and paired work.
Friendship and mixed-ability groupings are also used, particularly when children are encouraged to work together. Children who need extra support in literacy or mathematics will be taught for part of the day individually or in very small groups.
