Assessment Approach

All pupils are formally assessed in Reading, Writing, Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation (GPS) and Maths on a termly basis. Assessment remains a fundamental and integral part of Cyril Jackson’s drive to ensure that all children reach their potential. As a ‘bridge between teaching and learning’ we believe that assessment has a pivotal role to play in ensuring that - on a daily basis - children are presented with a tailored and differentiated set of learning experiences that challenge and excite them.
